Buying guide

  • Check undertone first: client undertone + pigment = healed result. Look at the skin in neutral light for pink, red, purple, or blue tones.
  • Most Indian clients are Fitzpatrick IV–V, ranging from III in North India to VI in South India – choose shades for that depth, not for swatches on fair skin.
  • Brows: start with the coffee and brown 200s; deeper Indian skin usually needs the darker coffees (215 Dark Coffee, 217 Black Coffee) for contrast.
  • Pigment heals duller and cooler than it looks fresh. Many artists add a few drops of a warm modifier as 'warm insurance' so brows don't heal grey or blue.
  • Lips: reds and pinks are in the 300s – on darker lips, neutralize first (see Lip Correctors).
  • India storage tip: keep pigments at room temperature, out of the sun – in hot summers store them in a cool place (some brands recommend 5–25°C).

How to use

  • Shake well before use.
  • Pour only what you need into a disposable pigment cup and close the bottle between uses.
  • Follow the directions on the bottle.
